| Netscape 7.x Mail |
| This tutorial is designed to walk you through how to configure the Netscape 7.x Mail client for use with the Digitalputty email services. |
| You will need your email server settings to set up your email
program. The email server settings are provided in the tutorial, however
you may want to print out our Server
Settings support page as it contains all necessary email server information
and more to get you configured properly and online now! |
You must meet these minimum requirements before setting up the Netscape 7.x Mail client:
A. Microsoft Windows 98/2000/XP Operating Systems must be installed.
B. Netscape 7 must already be installed.
C. Your Dial Up connection must already be configured.

| BEGIN SETUP |
- Click on the Netscape 7 icon.

- Once Netscape 7 opens, click on Window in the toolbar.
- Select Mail & Newsgroups from the sub-menu

- The default mail application will popup. Choose your setting.
You may not see the default mail application popup if you are an existing Netscape Mail user.

- Once the Mail & Newsgroups client is open, click on Edit in the toolbar.
- Select Mail & Newsgroups Account Settings... from the sub-menu.

- Click the Add Account button.

- Click the Email account radio button.
- Click Next.

- In the Your Name field, enter the name you would like people to see when you send them email.
e.g. The Church Lady
- In the Email Address field, enter your email address.
e.g. username@digitalputty.com
- Click Next.

- Select the POP option, for Select the type of incoming mail server you are using.
- In the Incoming Server field, enter mail.digitalputty.com
- Click Next.

- In the User Name field, enter your username.
For web hosting accounts, your username would be emailbox@your.domain
- Click Next.

- In the Account Name field, enter a "common name" to identify the account.
e.g. Digitalputty Email
- Click Next.

- Review your account settings.
- Click Next.

- You should be returned to the Mail & Newsgroups Account Settings dialogue box.
In the left column, you should see a new mail account, indicating you successfully created your account.
- In the left column click Outgoing Server (SMTP).
- In the Server Name field, enter mail.digitalputty.com (if it does not already appear there).
In the Port field, enter the number 25 (if it does not already appear there).
Uncheck the checkbox where it says Use name and password.

- Click OK to start using Netscape 7 Mail.
