| This tutorial is designed to walk you through how to configure the Microsoft Outlook Express 6 email client for use with the Digitalputty email services. |
| You will need your email server settings to set up your email
program. The email server settings are provided in the tutorial, however
you may want to print out our Server
Settings support page as it contains all necessary email server information
and more to get you configured properly and online now! |
You must meet these minimum requirements before setting up the Microsoft Outlook Express 6 email client:
A. Microsoft Windows 98/ME/2000/XP Operating System must be installed.
B. Your Dial Up or LAN connection must already be configured.

- Click on start.
- Click on E-mail.

- If have already been using Outlook Express 6 and are adding a new account, proceed to the next step.
If this is the initial setup (the first timne Outlook Express 6 is opened) skip to STEP 9
- Once Outlook Express opens, click on Tools
- Select Accounts from the menu.

- Once the Internet Accounts dialog box opens, click the Mail Tab
- Click the Add Button (right side)
- Select Mail from the menu.

- Once the Internet Connection Wizard dialog box opens, fill in the Display name field with the name you want people to see when you send email.
- Click Next.

- Fill in your E-mail address.
- Click Next.

- Leave My incoming mail server is a POP3 server, this is a true statement.
- In the Incoming Mail (POP3, IMAP or HTTP) Server field, enter mail.digitalputty.com.
- In the Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server field, enter mail.digitalputty.com.
- Click Next.

- In the Account name field, enter your username.
- In the Password field, enter your password.
- Check the Remember Password box.
- Click Next.

- Click Next.

- You should be returned to the Internet Accounts dialogue box.
You should also see a new mail account, indicating you successfully created your account.
- Click Close.

- You should be returned to the Outlook Express email client.
Test your account, while connected to the internet, by clicking on the send/recv button.
- Click Send/Recv.
