Apple OSX 10.2.x DUN Setup
This tutorial is designed to walk you through how to configure a dial up connection using the Apple OS X 10.2.x Operating System for use with the Digitalputty dial up services.
You must meet these minimum requirements before setting up a Apple OS X 10.2.x dial up connection:
  A. The Apple OS X 10.2.x Operating System must be installed.
  B. Your Dial Up Modem must already be installed and functional.
  BEGIN SETUP

  1. Click on the Apple icon.


  2. Select System Preferences.



  3. Click on Network.



  4. Click the TCP/IP tab.
    For the Location, select Automatic
    For Show, select Internal Modem
    For Configure, select Using PPP
    Default settings (provided by PPP Server) are correct.
    For DNS Servers, enter 216.170.112.1 and 216.170.112.30
    For Search Domains, enter digitalputty.com and/or origin.digitalputty.com*
    *optional



  5. Click the PPP tab.
    For Service Provider, enter digitalputty
    For Account Name, enter your username
    For Password, enter your password
    For Telephone Number, enter a local access number for your location from our complete list of Statewide Dial up Numbers
    For Alternate Number, enter an alternate local access number for your location from our complete list of Statewide Dial up Numbers*
    Check the box that says Save Password*
    *optional



  6. Click the Modem tab.
    For Modem, use the Apple Internal 56K Modem
    Check the box that says Enable error correction and compression in the modem
    Check the box that says Wait for dial tone before dialing
    For Dialing: Select Tone**
    For Sound: Select On***
    Check the box that says Show modem status in menu bar
    Click the Apply Now button.
    **some users may have use pulse dialing.
    ***on is very good for troubleshooting and setup.



  7. To establish a connection to the internet, open an mail client or a web browser.
    Click on Connect when prompted.
