Windows 98 DUN Setup
This tutorial is designed to walk you through how to configure a dial up connection using the Windows 98 Operating System for use with the Digitalputty Dial Up services.
Please browse a complete listing of our Statewide Dial up Numbers to get the correct dial up phone number for your location.
You must meet these minimum requirements before setting up the Windows 98 Dial Up Networking:
  A. The Microsoft Windows 98 Operating System must be installed.
  B. Your Dial Up Modem must already be installed and functional.
  BEGIN SETUP

  1. Double Click on My Computer.



  2. Double Click on Dial-Up Networking.



  3. Double Click on Make New Connection.



  4. Where it says Type a name for the computer you are dialing: enter digitalputty
    Verify you have the correct modem selected.
    Click Next



  5. Enter your area code in the area code field.
    Enter a Digitalputty Local Access Number in the Phone Number field.



  6. Click Finish.



  7. Now there should be a digitalputty icon in the Dial-Up Networking window.



  8. Right click on the digitalputty icon and select Properties.



  9. If you are dialing in your area code, uncheck the 'Use country code and area code' box.



  10. Click the Server Types tab.
    Only Enable software compression and TCP/IP should be checked.
    Click OK to finish.



  11. If you want a dial up networking shortcut on your desktop, right click on digitalputty in the Dial Up Networking folder and left click on Create Shortcut.
    You will be prompted to confirm that you want the shortcut on your desktop, click Yes.


  12. Close all windows and go reach the end of the internet!
